For more than five centuries, the Palacio Nacional - formerly the Viceregal Palace - has been the seat of political power, and as such, the scene of some of the most momentous events that marked the life of Mexico: conspiracies, popular riots, civic acts and political treaties, to mention a few. For some time he also lodged with Parliament, the judiciary and a prison in the viceregal era. And already in the twentieth century, it also became an art venue, under the murals made by the famous Mexican painter Diego Rivera.
In this tour, you will know the historical and architectural trajectory of this great monument and you will be able to appreciate the murals of Diego Rivera, knowing their historical and cultural meanings.
